Adventures in Music 2024 a Review
And so the year ends, it’s been interesting. Lots of new music, a new blog with myself challenging myself to write about other people’s music which has been a steep learning curve. I’m enjoying it though. The last year 18 months has brought me a lot of new music with the bluesky tracklist playlists and then more so with the bandcamp randomizer on bluesky. I think it’s appropriate to hail all those who have posted their music. To all those making music, hail yourselves. You are amazing! There is so much to choose from and it it doesn’t come close to scratching the surface.
As is typical with this time of year and working with super spreaders I have succumbed to what I can only describe as a batch of lurgy – cascading illnesses that have seen me in bed or a bad mood. As a consequence I have not been able to do a more thought out post so here are a few late entries for my musical finds. In the new year I intend to curate playlists into finer categories but the super playlist will still stand as a catch all to choose from.

Digging My Way Out
by Stan Stewart (aka @muz4now)
Stan is an exceptional musician who writes and performs with absolute honesty. This landed just recently and you can hear him rooting around and developing ideas which he weaves deftly to create such uplifting mood music.
And the Bones
by Dr. Organ
This just hit me right in the soul – a bit of me. Outsider music with a real knock for melody. It all feels like it’s about to fall apart but it’s glue is it’s soul and it’s a big soul.
Wrapped In An Ocean
by Elucid Ether
I described this on Bluesky as ‘quite fucking lovely’ and I stand by that statement. Please listen and enjoy.
