Who do you think you are?

Fair question I suspose.

My name is Mark, I record under two projects. Back Bone Shiver and The Number 13.

I’m a failed rock n roll wannabe. A guitarist, musician amd teacher.

From 15 I’d played in bands graduating from guitarist to guitarist/singer/songwriter and pretty much played for peanuts(actually no peanuts were offered).

My origins on the internet actually go back to the early 2000s on a website called Garageband where you could upload your songs and get reviews based on your reviewing other people’s music. Some of my songs did ok in the charts there. It lasted probably 18 monhs until I abandoned ship and gave up on the internet as far as music promotion went.

Until last year – after trying twitter and it hurting my head I landed on Bluesky and here we are.

I run a few playlists and a Bandcamp randomiser and have found a few likeminded people and it has reset me musically. Which is a godesnd if I’m honest so this blog is way of keeping that feeling and maybe enjoying pushing myself outside of my comfort zone. It might end up dogshit. If that’s the case you wipe it off on the grass over there.
